Interac e-Transfer Limits for Casino Deposits in Canada

Interac casino deposits in Canada can have a bank limit and cashier cap. Check both signed-in screens; the lower allowed amount usually wins.

Interac e-Transfer limits: the short answer

Interac e-Transfer limits come from at least two places: your financial institution and the casino cashier. There is no single maximum for every Canadian casino deposit. Interac says financial institutions set transaction limits and that personal transfers are typically $2,000 to $3,000 per transaction. That typical range is not a promise about your account.

Your real deposit ceiling is usually the lowest limit that applies: the amount your bank says is available to send, the casino cashier's current maximum, and any payment-processor or security approval. The casino may also have a minimum. Check both signed-in screens before sending money.

Simple rule: bank available amount + casino rules → the lower allowed amount wins. A bank limit is a safety control, not a suggested gambling budget.

Why The Limit Is Not One Number

People often search for one daily e-Transfer limit, but several separate controls can affect a casino payment. They are not interchangeable.

ControlWho sets itWhat to check
Per-transfer, daily, weekly, or monthly bank limitYour bank or credit unionThe signed-in Interac e-Transfer screen or transaction-limit settings
Casino deposit minimum and maximumThe casino operatorThe cashier page for your account, province, and payment method
Processor or security reviewThe bank, operator, or payment processorThe exact status or error message; do not guess
Personal spend or deposit limitYou through account controlsYour safer-gambling settings; keep this below what you can afford to lose

A casino saying it accepts Interac does not mean every amount will be accepted. Likewise, a bank showing money available in your account does not mean the whole balance is available for one e-Transfer.

This guide uses published terms and support pages checked on July 30, 2026. It does not claim a bank-by-bank casino deposit test. Limits, eligibility, and signed-in account controls can change.

What Major Canadian Banks Actually Say

The safest answer comes from the bank's signed-in screen because some public pages describe the rule without publishing one universal dollar amount.

Financial institutionPublished guidanceWhere to verify your amount
RBCRBC's current public service page says clients can send up to $10,000 per day through the RBC Mobile app after successful identity verification. It also directs clients to Daily Transaction Limits.RBC Online Banking: Account Management → Daily Transaction Limits, or the same section under account details in the app
TDTD says daily, weekly, and monthly maximums apply to sending and receiving Interac e-Transfers.In the TD app, look for Available to send below the Amount field
ScotiabankScotiabank describes its Interac e-Transfer limit as the daily limit across transfers made through online or mobile banking.Accounts → Manage My Accounts → Profile → Manage ScotiaCard & Account Access → Fastcash account setting & ScotiaCard limits
BMOBMO's current electronic-services agreement says daily, weekly, and monthly rolling limits can apply to the number of Interac e-Transfers. It does not publish one universal personal-account dollar amount.Check the amount shown in BMO Digital Banking or ask BMO through an official support channel
CIBCCIBC says there is no minimum and that send limits are up to $3,000 within 24 hours, $10,000 within 7 days, and $30,000 within 30 days.Confirm the current amounts on CIBC's Interac e-Transfer page and in Online or Mobile Banking

“Up to” is important. A lower available amount can apply because of previous transfers, eligibility, verification, an account setting, or a bank review. CIBC's periods are stated as 24, 7, and 30 days; they are not labelled as calendar-day, calendar-week, or calendar-month limits. Do not use a public maximum as proof that a payment should go through.

How The Casino Cashier Changes The Answer

The casino or its payment processor can set a different minimum or maximum for Interac deposits. That amount may vary by operator, account status, province, or payment flow. Read the amount shown inside the official cashier you opened from the casino's real website.

Confirm the exact Interac product too. Interac says its e-Transfer Business Request Money service can fund an account with a licensed lottery or gaming operator. Interac Direct is a separate online-payment product available through Konek. A generic Interac logo does not prove which flow a casino uses or that the operator is licensed. Do not apply this guide's e-Transfer figures automatically to Interac Direct or an unnamed cashier flow.

For example, suppose a bank screen says $2,500 is available to send and the casino cashier allows no more than $1,000 for that Interac option. The useful ceiling is $1,000, not $2,500. If the bank shows $600 available and the cashier maximum is $1,000, the useful ceiling is $600. These numbers are examples for the math, not published limits for a specific bank or casino.

Do not split one intended payment into smaller transfers to work around a limit or security check. Repeated attempts can create duplicate payments or more reviews. A limit failure is a reason to read the message and contact the right party, not a reason to find a bypass.

The recipient name can also differ when an operator uses a payment processor. Compare the legal name shown by your bank with the details in the official cashier. If they do not match, stop and ask the operator through its official support channel before sending.

Checklist: Find Your Real Available Amount

  1. Open your bank from its official app or a saved banking address.
  2. Open Interac e-Transfer and read the amount marked available to send or the transaction-limit page.
  3. Check whether earlier transfers already used part of a daily, weekly, or monthly allowance.
  4. Open the casino from its official address and choose the exact Interac option in the cashier.
  5. Write down the cashier minimum, maximum, fee, processing estimate, and verification rule.
  6. Confirm the recipient's legal name, contact detail, amount, and required reference before approval.
  7. Use only an account that belongs to the eligible casino account holder. Do not bypass identity, location, bank, or provincial controls.
  8. Set an entertainment budget below what you can afford to lose. The bank maximum should never become the budget.

If the two screens disagree, use the lower amount or stop and ask support. Do not rely on a search snippet, an old screenshot, or another person's account limit.

If The Transfer Fails Or Money Leaves The Bank

Interac says transfers are almost instant but can take up to 30 minutes depending on the bank or credit union. It also says transaction problems must be handled by the financial institution because Interac does not hold or trace account-level funds.

Never share an online-banking password, PIN, security answer, or one-time code with casino support. Share only the transaction details needed to trace the payment and cover unrelated account numbers or balances in screenshots.

Ontario Checks And Complaint Route

Ontario-regulated online gambling is 19+. Before depositing, match the exact website against iGaming Ontario's current regulated-operator directory. Canadian dollars, an Interac option, or an Ontario-looking logo alone do not prove that a site is regulated.

For a payment problem on an Ontario-regulated site, use the operator's formal complaint process first and keep the complaint number. iGaming Ontario lists payment handling and ID verification among the issues it can review after the operator step. It cannot directly settle bets, refund wagers, or award compensation.

Regulated Ontario sites must provide safer-gambling tools, including spend and time limits and ways to take a break or self-exclude. See the site's Ontario safety checklist and responsible gambling help page.

Responsible Gambling Note

An Interac limit is not a target and not a sign that an amount is safe to gamble. Decide the entertainment amount before opening the cashier. Do not use rent, food, bill, debt-payment, emergency, or borrowed money.

If a failed payment makes you want to switch banks, send a larger amount, or chase a loss, stop for the day. ConnexOntario provides free and confidential gambling-support information across Ontario 24/7. Call 1-866-531-2600, text CONNEX to 247247, or use its chat and email options.

Explained Like You're 12

Imagine carrying a box through two doors. Your bank door might allow a box up to one size. The casino door might allow a smaller box. The box only gets through if it fits both doors, so the smaller door decides.

That does not mean you should carry the biggest box possible. With gambling money, choose a much smaller box you can afford to lose. If a door closes, read the sign and ask the person in charge. Do not break the box into pieces to sneak it through.

FAQ

What is the maximum Interac e-Transfer amount in Canada?

There is no universal maximum for every person. Interac says financial institutions set transaction limits and that personal transfers are typically $2,000 to $3,000 per transaction. Your signed-in bank screen is the source for your actual available amount.

What is the daily e-Transfer limit?

It depends on the bank, account, verification, and transfers already sent. Some banks also apply weekly or monthly maximums. Check the transaction-limit or Available to send screen inside your bank's official app.

Does the bank limit or casino limit control the deposit?

Both can apply. The practical ceiling is normally the lower amount after the bank's available-to-send limit, casino cashier maximum, and any processor or security review are considered.

Should I split a casino deposit into smaller e-Transfers?

No. Do not split transfers to bypass a bank, casino, security, identity, or safer-gambling control. Repeated attempts can also create duplicate payments or more reviews.

What if the bank says sent but the casino balance is missing?

Save the amount, time, recipient, status, and Interac reference. Check the casino transaction history and open one official support ticket. Do not send a duplicate while the first payment is unresolved.
